Labor Day Hours

All YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge branches will be open Monday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. for Labor Day.

Members at the Botetourt Family YMCA, Rockbridge Area YMCA and Salem Family YMCA can also use 24-Hour Access outside of regular hours. The add-on is available to members age 18 and older for $5 per adult, per month and provides access to the wellness floor and restrooms. First responder members receive 24-Hour Access at no additional cost.

Family Pool Maintenance Closure

Updated 6/15/26: The Salem Family YMCA Family Pool will be closed August 7–13 for scheduled maintenance.

During this time, we will be acid washing the pool and painting the ceiling, both of which require the pool to be fully drained and refilled.

These improvements are part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable space for our members and families.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this temporary closure.

Family Pool Closure: Floating Sound Bath

Updated 7/27/26: The Family Pool will close at 4:00 PM on Sunday, Aug. 2 for our Floating Sound Bath Wellness program. Thank you for your understanding!

Kirk Family YMCA 

Updated 08/07/26: The family pool will be closed on Tuesday, August 11, for scheduled maintenance. We anticipate reopening on Wednesday morning for regular pool hours, pending the successful completion of maintenance.

Pool Hours Update: 

Updated 6/3/26: Members, we hear you. While adjusting pool hours is never an easy decision, your safety remains our top priority.

Due to ongoing staffing shortages, the Lap Pool and Family Pool will close at 7:00 PM each evening, on weekdays. This temporary change helps us maintain safe staffing levels and continue providing a positive experience for everyone who uses our aquatics facilities.

We are actively recruiting and training lifeguards and aquatics staff, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this challenge. We will reevaluate the situation as we approach June 18 and provide updates as soon as they are available.
