YMCA at Tanglewood Turns One! Join the Celebration

Roanoke, Va. (Dec. 3, 2025) — The YMCA at Tanglewood will celebrate its first birthday the week of December 7–13, marking one year since the branch officially opened its doors on December 10, 2024. To commemorate the milestone, the Y is offering a No Joining Fee Membership Special and a full schedule of activities for members and families.

WHAT:
First Birthday Celebration Week at the YMCA at Tanglewood
• No Joining Fee Membership Special (Dec. 7–13)
• Lemon water after hot yoga and group exercise classes
• Swag giveaways
• Cupcake Socials (Dec 10, 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.)
• Spud Social  (Dec 10, 12:00 p.m.)
• Prize Wheel with Y-themed items
• “Pickle” photo opportunity

Stay & Play Birthday Week Activities:
Monday: Decorate a birthday banner
Tuesday: Make YMCA birthday cards
Wednesday: Birthday scavenger hunt coloring activity
Thursday: Create birthday crowns
Friday: Birthday dance party with music and instruments

WHY:
The week marks one year of the YMCA at Tanglewood serving the Roanoke County community with expanded access to wellness programs, group exercise, and youth activities.
