Line Dancing Steps into the Spotlight at the YMCA — More Than a Trend, It’s a Community
What started as a weekly class is now a packed-house phenomenon. Line dancing at the YMCA at Tanglewood is drawing people of all ages looking for connection, fitness, and a whole lot of fun — proof that wellness today is as much about community as it is about cardio.
“Line dancing is growing in popularity, and not just because of viral social media challenges,” said Erin Lewis, wellness specialist at the YMCA at Tanglewood. “It’s a great way to stay active without it feeling like work. You’re moving, boosting your heart health, building coordination and strengthening muscles — all while having a blast with others.”
The YMCA at Tanglewood offers line dancing classes for beginners through advanced dancers with a focus on creating a welcoming, high-energy space for everyone. The classes are held every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 and 7:30pm.
