August is National Wellness Month — The YMCA Invites the Community to Focus on Well-Being

July 30, 2025

Roanoke, VA (July 30, 2025) – As National Wellness Month kicks off this August, the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge is inviting the community to explore ways to move more, connect with others, and take steps toward better health. Whether it’s older adults staying active, teens building confidence, or families finding healthy outlets together, the Y offers programs designed to meet people where they are.

“Wellness looks different for everyone — and that’s the beauty of it,” said Amanda Keffer, Branch Executive Director for the YMCA at Tanglewood. “Whether you’re finding your community in a group class or trying something new like hot yoga, we want people to know the Y is here for them. This month is a great time to take that first step.”
