The Botetourt Family YMCA will host an Early Learning Center Holiday Open House on Monday, Dec. 15, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., inviting families to meet teachers, explore classrooms and learn more about the Y’s play-based early learning program. October is Family Health Month, and the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge is encouraging families to strengthen connections and stay active together. The Rockbridge Area YMCA has announced the successful completion of its 2025 Annual Campaign, raising more than $63,000 to support children, families, and individuals in the community. These contributions helped serve more than 2,600 members and provided nearly 90 children each week with safe, enriching experiences during 10 weeks of summer camp.

Falls are the leading cause of injury-related emergency room visits for older adults, the major cause of hip fractures and responsible for more than half of fatal head injuries. During Falls Prevention Awareness Week, Sept. 22–26, the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge is encouraging older adults and families to take proactive steps to reduce risks. From Sept. 24–30, anyone (including active older adults) can try the Y for free.
