Water Aerobics

At the Y, we believe if you can do it on land, you can do some version of it in the water! The low-impact water environment allows participants to improve cardiovascular and strength conditioning while protecting joints and promoting joint flexibility. Whether you can swim or not, most classes are suitable for everyone. Check our water aerobics schedules for class dates and times.

WATER AEROBICS SCHEDULES

SHALLOW WATER AEROBIC EXERCISE

This class is for all levels for physical fitness and is conducted in water between 4-5 feet deep. Swimmers and non-swimmers can benefit from and enjoy this aerobic exercise class.

WARM WATER AEROBICS

A low intensity class for all physical abilities to work on range of motion exercises as well as building cardiovascular endurance.

DEEP WATER AEROBIC EXERCISE

A class for those with moderate to higher levels of physical fitness who have the swim skills necessary for safety, proper body alignment and exercise performance in deep water.

AQUA ZUMBA

Ditch the work out and join the party in the water! This shallow water aerobic class is a great and fun way to get your cardio work out in.

ARTHRITIS CLASS

A recreational exercise program designed to  accommodate the abilities of individuals with arthritis and other related diseases.  Taught in a group setting with activities and exercises to encourage self care, provide social interaction, improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility, maintain independence, manage pain and relieve symptoms of arthritis.

HYDRO PILATES

Hydro-Pilates is based on a series of movements developed by Joseph Pilates that emphasizes strengthening and lengthening from the body's core "powerhouse."  Learn precise breathing, muscle control and mind/body awareness to stabilize the torso, improve posture, reduce stress, strengthen muscles and increase flexibility.  Note:  part of the class includes using a noodle for flotation.
