MOSSA

Offered at the Kirk and Rockbridge 

MOSSA programs are carefully designed and thoroughly tested to ensure members have an effective and engaging social exercise experience. Each program is designed to appeal to a variety of fitness levels from beginner to advanced, and all programming is demonstrated with options allowing participants to increase or decrease intensity and complexity.

The Kirk Family YMCA offers nine MOSSA programs: Group Power, Group Active, Group Groove, Group Fight, Group Core, Group Blast, Group Centergy, Group Ride and R30.

The Rockbridge Area YMCA offers six MOSSA programs: Group Power, Group Centergy, Group Active, Group Fight, Group Ride and R30


LES MILLS™

Offered at Salem

LES MILLS™ group fitness classes mix the hottest music with cutting-edge exercise science that will make you fall in love with fitness. Our LES MILLS™ programs challenge participants to put aside whatever else is happening, and lose themselves for an hour in one of our popular group fitness classes. 

The Salem Family YMCA offers five LES MILLS™ programs: Body Pump, Body Flow, Body Step, CXWORX


ZUMBA

Offered at Kirk, Salem, Gainsboro and Rockbridge

Join the party! Zumba™ is a fusion of Latin and international music and dance that creates a dynamic, exciting, effective cardio workout. Our fun, easy routines feature interval aerobic training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body as you dance. This is the ultimate dance workout that is easy to follow and excellent for any fitness level! 


BARRE CLASSES

Offered at Kirk and Salem

Barre classes are offered at the Kirk Family YMCA and Salem Family YMCA. This workout is a combination of Ballet, Yoga and Pilates. This fun, effective workout features light weights, heavy repetition and deep stretching resulting in better muscle tone and posture along with improved flexibility. Using a stability or ballet barre, health seekers perform small isometric movements set to upbeat music. 


CYCLE

Offered at Kirk, Salem and Rockbridge

Our popular indoor cycling program is a group exercise class designed for adults of all ages and ability levels and is offered at the Kirk Family YMCA, Salem Family YMCA and Rockbridge Area YMCA. Our enthusiastic instructors are great at motivating you through mountainous terrain, rolling hill and flat beach roads. Set to upbeat and motivational music, indoor cycling is one of the best cardio workouts there is!
